As of January 2014, we finally have a Rancilio excellent option for a larger basket.
Rancilio Basket 18 Grams (40-100-103). - Back to Basket page
This basket is the same or better in quality as the 102 basket.
This basket will fit all Rancilio portafilters, closed or open bottom.
This basket is 2.4mm higher than the 102 basket.
Capacity is 10cc or 5.5 grams of coffee more than the 102 basket.

The 18g basket #103 - When filled loose from the grinder and scraping the top (which is the minimum dose) it will hold about 18+/- grams, but after tamping, the coffee will not touch the screen. This basket can (and should be) dose more than 18g. Maximum dose is about 22.5 grams (I use 21g with most beans), which at this point coffee will touch the screen firmly after the brew (depending on your gasket and settings -- this was done with firm gasket -- handle at 90 degree).
To dose more than 18 grams, you will need to assist with taping the Portafilter (not recommending), or use dosing ring like i show here.
With the double shot basket (#102) you are always in need to cut the brew under 60ml. With the 18g basket (#103) when at full capacity you can easily brew the full 60ml. (2oz.) without having any over extraction of the coffee.
